my YEARLY Halloween rant…

Since the knocking on strange doors for candy
is supposed to be MOSTLY for the young children…

FOR SAFETY…

Why can’t trick-or-treat for Halloween time
be a set day and time (limit) ?
My idea was the last Sunday in October,
from 1pm – 5 pm.
It would be guaranteed to be daylight hours,
mom’s could take the kids around,
dad could watch the football game
and take care of the trick-or-treaters at the door.
Trick-or-treating IS mostly for the littler kids afterall !

AND THE KIDS WOULD FIND MORE PEOPLE HOME
AND TAKE HOME A BIGGER HAUL OF CANDY !

(and keep older kids looking for trouble out of the dark)

IT’S AN IDEA THAT SHOULD SERIOUSLY BE LOOKED AT !

(they FINALLY moved end of Daylight Savings Time to after Halloween)

CUT TO THE CHASE !!!


I disagree with my psychiatrist’s assertion that I’m depressed
because I have a serotonin imbalance.
I’m pretty sure the real reason is that my life sucks.

I was watching one of those ‘news-crime’ shows…
and there was a situation they touched on,
but didn’t give it’s due…

In a class for teens who were having ‘trouble’
of one kind or another, and it was affecting
their demeanor & school work…
the teacher bent over backwards (too much)
to be ‘kind’ to a young boy who was a
bit effeminate… quite a bit…
(wore make-up, high-heels, girl clothes to class)
and was accepted.  The teacher even
game him her daughter’s old prom dress.
(it ended badly for the effeminate kid)

The ‘offender’ was a jock-type, but nice, kid
who was being physically abused at home,
and it was getting worse ruining his good grades….

He wasn’t happy with continue-ing overt ‘romantic’ attentions
from the other ‘boy’.  The teacher went over-board
for the one kid, but gave the 2nd kid a hard time (or no time)…
IE…
The 2nd kid was sent home for wearing a shirt without
a collar, while the other boy wore dresses & heels.


So, 2nd kid has it bad at home,
no understanding or attention at school,
and non-stop, un-wanted, romantic ‘overtures’
from someone ‘born-that-way’, and he wasn’t !
And it wasn’t abating, it was getting worse…
HE FINALLY EXPLODED !

and the result was deadly !

And Ellen Degeneres summarizes the situation as
’someone is dead for giving a valentine’

A TRAGEDY ALL-AROUND BUT…
SEEMS THERE WAS A BIT MORE TO THE STORY !


MY QUESTION IS…

WHY ISN’T IT SEXUAL HARASSMENT
WHEN A GAY KID CONTINUALLY
‘GOES AFTER’  A STRAIGHT KID ?
(there seems to be no question about the other way)

THERE WAS NO WAY NOT TO SEE
THE 2nd KID’S NON-INTEREST !
The first kid was EMBARASSED (& abused) to the extreme !
The teacher & school chose to look away and ignore it !!!

WHY NOT SIT BOTH OF THEM DOWN,
EXPLAIN THINGS, & HAVE THEM LEAVE EACH OTHER ALONE ?
(shortly afterwards, the teacher changed professsions)


Homosexuals & transexuals
aren’t the only ones ‘discovering’ their sexuality !
They aren’t the ONLY ones with raging hormones & ‘issues’ !!!
AND FEELING ‘THREATENED’ !!!
(adults should have the maturity to deal with it, KIDS don’t)

There IS a time when young boys
are even ‘offended’ by attentions from little girls !
GIRLS BEING ‘YUCKY’ & ALL !!!

ONLY GOES ONE WAY…
AND YOU GET LABELED IF YOU SPEAK UP !

I like to think that if you don’t like someone,
stay out of their way… don’t interact… avoid them…
in the end, at least you’ll be blameless…
and the ones in charge should LEAD !!!

Why create a situation ?

and if THEY don’t like you ?

SAME THING !

SUGAR  CUBES

I think my mother had them in the house
when I was a kid…
but I never liked the time it took for them to dissolve !
I remember the ‘cutesy’ sugar cube (on ribbons) corsages
the girls wore in grammar school (high school?)…

DO THEY STILL USE THEM THAT WAY ?

I had to google search it to find that
you can find them in most any large grocery store !
(look on the top shelf in the sugar aisle)

First, I’d like to preface this by saying
that I’ve seen the ALFRED HITCHCOCK movie…
NORTH by NORTHWEST
at least 100 times… (probably more)

I heard MARTIN LANDAU, who plays a thug
in the movie, not a particularly BIG role…
(I was embarassed for him for his humble beginnings)

ANYWAY…

On his own, he decided to play the chararcter
as a homosexual… Huh?
I picked up on his over-the-top killer-rage
that he used whether needed or not,
but NEVER picked up on sexual orientation !
Yet claims that he (and James Mason)
were questioned over it constantly over the years !
(his ‘woman’s intuition’ ?   uh.. I heard it as sarcasm)

I saw a new  ‘wrinkle-removing’ treatment on the news…
Bo-tox only lasts 6 weeks or so…
This new treatment might be forever !

THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE ?

The woman they used as a subject for the process…
looked to be about 100 years old !
After the treatment ?
She looked like a 100 year old woman with no wrinkles !!!

She thought she looked great…

but all I saw was…

The Norma Desmond character from Sunset Blvd.

WHY BOTHER ?

Get used to yourself… old on the ‘inside’ is incure-able,
after 35 or so… do looks really matter ?
As Frank Burns said on MASH…

NICE goes alot farther than looks as you age !
