I wasn’t feeling well this past week
and this issue will reflect that…
should be a lot of ranting & anger…

Whatever happened to ‘normal’ colds?
The earth is doing ‘everything’ BIG
(snow, floods, earthquakes, etc)
so it has to include ‘baby’ diseases ?

I can usually function with a cough,
or a sore throat, but I got knocked on my ass
by something that came on real fast !

ACHES, DELERIUM, non-restful CONSTANT SLEEP…
and congestion that oozed for days !

I never thought I’d say it…

BUT I’D RATHER BE AT WORK !!!

(instead of the ‘revenge’ waiting for me when I get back)

Johnny Sheffield played the character Boy in the Tarzan movies.
Johnny Sheffield beat out more than 300 other youngsters
for the role of Boy in the 1939 movie “Tarzan Finds a Son!”
and acted with Johnny Wiessmuller in 7 more Tarzan films.

He later played another jungle boy, Bomba,
in a dozen movies but quit the business after the last one 1955.

Johnny Sheffield went on to earn a business degree
He worked for various companies & contracting & real estate.

FIGHTING THE GOVERNMENT
FOR WHAT WE (usa) HAVE
AND RAISE THEMSELVES UP


OUR GOV’T FIGHTING THE PEOPLE
FOR WHAT WE HAVE
(and wanting to take it away)
AND LOWERING US DOWN

How about prioritizing the cuts ?
I would think that foreign aid and
grants to study unnecessary minutia
would be the first to go…
NOT ONE TO BE NEGOTIATED !

I keep hearing about ‘making’ jobs
as more & more are laid off by the gov’t.
Doesn’t say much for ‘confidence’
and it just raises the pool of
unemployed people looking for work
in the non-existent jobs !

TOPSY-TURVEY…
The gov’t isn’t doing what it’s asking
industry to do to create jobs !

WHY, OH WHY, WAS I NOT BORN
RELATED TO A POLITICIAN !
I’d be employed for life !!!

Wouldn’t it be an interesting statistic
to see how many ‘near-relatives’ of politicians
are unemployed as compared to the general public
and how many of them have jobs
‘connected’ in some manner to their political relative !

HAVE THEY DECIDED WHAT POLITICIAN BENEFITS
SHOULD BE CUT YET ?
Pay for medical, eliminate multiple pensions,
assorted other perks?
how about punching a time clock ?

…who say the UK taxpayer does not need to donate
to a state that is itself a foreign aid donor,
classified by the World Bank as a middle income country (MIC)
and whose economy is growing at nearly 10% a year.

We can’t take care of our own, and yet it goes on !!!

THIS  ANTI-UNION  MOVEMENT ???

Mostly aimed at gov’t or state workers right now
(including teachers)
HOW LONG BEFORE THEY
COME FOR (non-union) YOU ?

I really have a problem when people
think the solutions to their problems
are to bring OTHERS down,
instead of raising themselves up !
(fine for most as long as success isn’t in your future)

I say this because no matter
how low you think the bottom is…

IT CAN ALWAYS BE LOWERED, AND IS !!!

I’d rather fight for more, and better,
than fight to make others more miserable !

In the case of teachers?

I AGREE THEY HAVE TOO GOOD A DEAL
(especially in this economy),
but the ‘deal’ could be negotiated down
instead of counting on the ‘fairness’ of the state !

TENURE ?

As for any job, you give 20 years of good & faithful service,
you get older… lose a step…
and you’re not the ball-of-fire that came out of college…
AND THAT’S GOOD ENOUGH REASONTO FIRE YOU ?
How many politician relatives will get jobs as teachers
once they make use of THAT corruption ?
WANT TO GET RID OF A TEACHER?
Give him-her all the problem-dopey kids,
when bad test scores come in.. FIRE THEM !

THE ELITE ARE THE ONES AGAINST UNIONS
and have the rank-and-file fired up to do their dirty work !
Check out the early history of unions
and how they RAISED the standard of living for ALL !

NO UNIONS ?

SAY GOOD-BYE TO THE MIDDLE CLASS !
Be prepared to work as well & as hard at 55
as you did at 25 years old !
Seems the age-discrimination laws will be the next to go !

EXPECTING EMPLOYERS TO BE FAIR
AND SHARE THE WEALTH
MAY HAPPEN INITIALLY…

BOY SCOUTS - GIRL SCOUTS

Talking about rising up instead of taking someone down.

The Boy Scouts took a long time to get
the organization where it is.
A better organization than Girl Scouts ?
Perhaps… but groups that separate by sex
aren’t all that unique… especially at younger ages.

AND A FEW YEARS AGO
WHEN THE GIRL SCOUTS WANTED ‘IN’
TO THE BOY SCOUT ORGANIZATION…
I thought it unfair !
TO DRAG THE BSA THRU THE COURTS,
WASTING TIME & MILLIONS…
with money that could have been spent on the kids,
and time could have been spent
improving the Girl Scout organization,

WAS IDIOTIC & CHILDISH !

THE GIRLS SCOUTS HAVE THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
to pick & choose…
Take what works,
leave what doesn’t work,
and you have a BETTER organization !

INSTEAD OF ‘PILING ON’ SOMETHING

(perhaps ruining a male bonding staple?)

My family never felt cheated…
we have 2 eagle scouts, 1 regular scout,
and 1 girl scout and they all enjoyed the experience.
It’s more a local thing, than a national thing !

I need to shake this cold-flu-whatever…

HIT LIKE A TON OF BRICKS…

(self diagnosis? kidney stone, flu, cancer,
then ALL my ribs hurt.. so I’m thinking TB)

I JUST WANT TO FEEL GOOD AGAIN !

My usual self-medication isn’t being effective…
(and my personal medical kit is well stocked)
and sleep isn’t just off.. it’s strange !

Like the other nite…

I Ieft the tv on for the nite like usual,
didn’t use the timer to turn it off,
but had the sound down VERY low…

I guess it was a Law & Order:SVU marathon…
(the sex crimes one)
and I incorporated something on the show
into my delerious-dream state !

AND LET ME TELL YOU…

THE ‘ASS-POUNDING’  I GOT
WAS ABSOLUTELY NON-CONSENSUAL !!!
and I wasn’t enjoying myself !
(as you would think, I never saw his face)

some of the cable channels show some
damn LONG commercials… info-mercials during shows?
They kept repeating this 10 minute
FEED-the-CHILDREN mini-movie !

AND THE WORDS & FACES OF THOSE
HUNGRY KIDS FINALLY GOT TO ME…

I GOT UP OUT OF BED
AND HAD SOME Ben-&-Jerry’s ICE CREAM…
Slept much better after that !

I’m waiting on line for one of several prescriptions
for this severe cold-flu that others have told me
relapses a few times before it leaves you…

I found myself in the odd position of

defending TEACHERS & TENURE !

The other guy had a self-serving agenda
and was goading with ‘loaded’ arguments & questions….
So I stepped in & saved the poor soul he was bullying.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN TENURE ?

Absolutely… You can’t expect someone on the job
for 20 or 30 years to have the same enthusiasm
as they had right out of college, but are good teachers.
You can’t depend on ‘fairness’ & ‘politics’
if there weren’t rules to protect.

HOW DO YOU GET RID OF INCOMPETENT TEACHERS ?

Working from a lesson plan that the school approves,
I find it hard to believe that all that many teachers
are incompetent to fullfill their duties…

(here it comes)

WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY MEAN BY INCOMPETENT ?

” STUDENTS AREN’T LEARNING ! ”

Uh… the teacher’s job is to T E A C H,
it’s the students job to L E A R N !!!

DON’T PUT THE BLAME ON TEACHERS,
THEY CAN’T ALL BE ‘MISTER KOTTERS’ !

HAVE YOU NOTICED ?

ALL THIS ELIMINATING OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
SEEMS TO BE POINTED AT OLDER EMPLOYEES !
If you can’t do the work of a 25 year old after 50,
you’ve ‘lost-a-step’ over the years,
I GUESS THAT MAKES YOU INCOMPETENT !!!
There’s no room for you old-timer !
That 25 years of loyal service means nothing !
HOPEFULLY IT’LL BITE POLITICO FAMILIES

I think there’s room for give-backs…
teachers (and cops & firemen) haved pretty good deals…
but don’t need cutting at the level being proposed…

OBAMA HAS QUIT SMOKING !

At least something is getting done !!!
