Hope everyone made it thru New Year’s Eve & Day in style…
We had an morning snowstorm on New Year’s Eve
that didn’t help maintain a festive mood !
But since I’ve NOT gone out to party for decades…
IT WASN’T A BOTHER TO ME !

I CAN BE MISERABLE SNOW OR NO SNOW !!!

AT LEAST ‘2010′ IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES !

I’m doing this issue last minute
so excuse my less-than-enthusiastic attitude this week…

Paul Anthony Samuelson was an American economist
known for his contributions to many fields of economics,
beginning with his general statement of comparative statics method
in his 1947 book Foundations of Economic Analysis.
Samuelson was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal in 1947
and sole recipient of 2nd Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1970.

In college (not 1947) for economics (one of my degrees)…
the course bible was his Economics textbook,
known to all as SAMUELSON !

I’M VERY PISSED-OFF AT

OBAMA & ‘HIS’ HEALTHCARE PROGRAM !!!

It’s no surprise that a healthcare program,
good or not,
would eventually be forced down our throats…

THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM !

I’m mad that New Jersey GAVE AWAY it’s votes,
while Obama was willing to pay billions
for the final vote needed to pass it !
WE SHOULD HAVE HELD OUT
AND GOT OUR ENTIRE MEDICARE PAID FOR TOO !!!

I know back-room deals are made…
I know if-you-vote-for-this, I’ll-vote-for-that….
BUT IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO PAY FOR A VOTE !!!
Right out in the open as if it was ethical !
THAT IS A BRIBE !!!

AND IF UN-ETHICAL IS THE RULE ?
I want the leading un-ethical,
everywhere else New Jersey to get a payday too!!!

IT’S FRIDAY NITE..

I’m mad as hell…. out-right ANGRY !!!

It’s the nite I finish & publish the email subscription
part of RIP Renfield, posting on the web on Sundays.
(same issue both days)
I get home later from work these days,
need a quick meal and then down to work…
I call home to see if there’s a meal waitng… NO?
Okay… I’ll order a pizza (and a meatball parm sub).
I call the friggin’ place at 4:45 and place my order.
THEY KNOW I LIKE COLD PIZZA !!!
I tell them to make it now, let it cool,

and I’ll pick it up at 6:30… no problem?

I get there and the line at the counter is 3 deep,
and the restaurant (and parking lot) are packed.
I wait my turn, even though mine has been made
almost 2 hours ago…
I get their attention… “I’m hear for the cold pie and sub.”
THEY KEEP PACE WITH OTHER ORDERS (it’s frantic)…
2 other people come in for pie’s they phoned ahead for…
SEEMS THE GUYS BEHIND THE COUNTER
ARE CAUGHT OFF-GUARD !!!
One of them keeps catching my eye and looking away…
THE MOTHER FUCKERS STOLE ALOT OF TIME
OUT OF MY LIFE !!!  I STOOD THERE FOR NEARLY
20 MINUTES BEING IGNORED !!! (plus the call & drive)
and probably going to be handed HOT food eventually !!!

the SONS-OF-BITCHES !!!
I walked out, got in my double-parked car
(since I was ONLY going in for a minute),
and left the fucking place, planning to never come back !

I MUST HAVE HAD IT BUILDING IN ME,
I WAS READY TO EXPLODE…
IT’S NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS !!!

(I was laying-in-wait for them to call me saying that I didn’t pick up)


THEN THE DRIVE-UP AT BURGER KING WAS WAY TOO LONG !
I ended up getting a chicken salad sub and chips
and having a LATE dinner that kinda sucked !
AND THEN ‘FUTZING AROUND’ WITH AOL
MIS-BEHAVING WHILE I’M TRYING TO GET OUT AN ISSUE !!!

I’M BETTER NOW, THANK YOU !!!

AIRPORT SECURITY…

PASSENGERS WELCOME INCREASED SECURITY !
Haven’t we been ’suffering’  thru this increased security
for the last 8 years ? Since 9-11 ?

WELL, DUH…  IT FAILED !!!
It took an individual, alert passenger
(who isn’t getting his due, others are taking the spotlight)
to ‘make-the-repair’ for the ‘broken’ security !!!

If you can walk on an airliner with explosives,
there’s something, someone, NOT doing the job !!!

GIVE EVERYONE ON THE PLANE A GUN…

Someone gets out of line… they know what to expect !

ACTUALLY… THE TECHNOLOGY HAS IMPROVED !
Give them all TASERS… less powerful than cop ones…

My ‘FRIGGIN’ Family (again)…

(light on RIP material, got to go with my miserable life)

I get a call from my older sister…
She wants a good video copy of assorted family videos.
WHY I’M THE KEEPER OF THE FLAME, I DON’T KNOW ?

My mother would like to show-off to her holiday company…
She had the local, NY, tv news stations to the house
and they did nice segments on her houseful of Santas.
Plus, my young sister’s appearance on WHEEL-OF-FORTUNE…
Plus, assorted anything videos of interest…
(some are 15-20 years old and not really handy)
((located on assorted tapes buried in closets))

EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY DID HAVE COPIES !!!
and when they lost them… they got more copies (from ME)…
and then 2 or 3 years ago…
I painstakingly went thru all my nephew’s copies
and made a master tape of ALL the ‘goodies’ !
AND AGAIN MADE COPIES FOR EVERYONE AGAIN !!!
(mom, 2 sisters, brother,  & nephew.. plus ME)

AND AGAIN…
NO ONE HAS A WORKING COPY OF ANYTHING
WHENEVER THEY SEEM TO NEED THEM !!!

So.. I had to search my house (not a 5 minute search)…
and come up with MY copy of the master tape.
I call my sister with the good(?) news…
but mention that since it’s copies-of-copies
the quality is watch-able but no where near perfect…

AND I GET THE (without saying it)…
“YOU’RE AN IDIOT, WHY AREN’T THEY HD QUALITY !”
and I say…
SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE PUT AWAY GOOD COPIES
IN A SAFE PLACE WHERE THEY COULD BE FOUND EASILY.
and I get the…
YEAH.. SOMEONE (idiot me) SHOULD HAVE !!!

HEY… I’M NOT IN THE VIDEOS….
I WASN’T ON WHEEL-OF-FORTUNE…
I THINK SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT HAVE MORE OF AN
INTEREST IN KEEPING THEM FOR THE AGES !!!

The people the tapes are important to,
don’t treat the tapes as important…
figuring what?  an un-interested party will?

THE REASON FOR THE RE-NEWED INTEREST
IS THAT MY MOTHER DECIDED TO SHOW OFF AGAIN
AND ISN’T ABLE TO SHOW THEM TO HER ‘COMPANY’…
HEY.. MY MOTHER STILL CAN’T WORK A VCR…
IT STILL BLINKS 12:00 !!!

and, go figure, the 20 year old tape doesn’t work anymore !

AND AT THIS LATE DATE…
THE BRAINSTORM IS TO PUT THE OLD TAPES TO DVD,
better late than never… but the quality thru the tape generations
has deteriorated quite a bit…

SO I’M STILL THE IDIOT…

WELCOME TO MY LIFE !!!

NO MATTER HOW EXCELLENT YOUR WORK !!!

AFTER I SEARCHED MY HOUSE
AND FOUND THE TAPE
and told my sister about quality issues…
She figured to just borrow the hopefully better quality
bag of video tapes from her son and have someone
make her copies from the ones i used to make my masters…
NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD MY TONGUE…
I pointed out to her that it was several days of dedicated work…
NO ONE WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO
THE EDITING JOB IN AN HOUR !!!
(plus how would a non-family member know what’s important)

PEOPLE WHO DON’T DO THE WORK THEMSELVES,
JUST DON’T GET IT !!!

ADDENDUM to ADDENDUM…

I have my master copy out and ready to give to my sister…
BUT I TOLD HER…
This is it.. once you take this tape…
I WON’T HAVE A COPY TO LEND ANYMORE !

(so, she’d better get it to dvd.. maybe it’ll last longer)

THEN MY MOTHER HAS TO GET A DVD PLAYER
THAT SHE WON’T  BE ABLE TO WORK !!!

ANOTHER  ADDENDUM…

Turns out that Xmas Eve at mom’s house
was attended by ALL the grandchildren…
(they are spread out far enough that them together is rare)
I heard the complaint days later that NO ONE
took a photo of all of them together !
SOMEONE(?) WAS JUST ITCHING TO PUT THE FAULT
ON SOMEONE (me?) FOR NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE !
But there was no one to blame but yourself (herself),
even if she didn’t want to admit it !

FROM PAST EXPERIENCE…
my photographer daughter is forbidden (by me)
to bring a camera to family functions !!!
(been way too much criticism by the non-camera holders)

I throw in a tape on my way out the door

to record the MAURY POVICH SHOW…

This way I have something to watch the next day
as I get ready for work…
Of course.. the hour show only takes 10-15 minutes

HE WAS VINDICATED !!!
He never cheated with ANYONE !!!
BUT… she focused in on only ONE question
after the BIG stuff proved fruit-less…
He lied when he said he didn’t think she was…
LOUD & ANNOYING !!!
That set her off worse than anything else could !

THE REALLY GOOD PART ?
The doctor-psychologist on the show agreed,
and said to her face…
THAT SHE WAS LOUD AND ANNOYING !!!

SHE WENT BALLISTIC !!!
TELLING HIM TO GO FUCK HIMSELF !!!

THE AUDIENCE AGREED WITH THE DOCTOR !

was to check for incompatible RH factors

where the researcher was murdered because the doctor
