happy hanukkah…

It’s not my personal brand of religion…
but I’m ‘big’ enough to celebrate anything
that involves a party and a good time…

SPEAKING OF CELEBRATIONS…

I had my VERY nice Thanksgiving dinner with family last week.
It was a pleasant, relaxed affair…
NOW… a week later… I FIND MYSELF BEHIND FOR XMAS,
and I’VE BARELY DIGESTED THE LAST HOLIDAY MEAL !!!

I’ve yet to address, or mail, a card…
I’ve yet to buy a gift…
I have a yardful of leaves to rake…
(the wind really let me down)
I have to put up Xmas lights outside my house…
I have to buy a Xmas tree and set it up…
OH YEAH.. AND THERE’S A LITTLE THING
LIKE GOING TO WORK EVERYDAY
AND IT BEING THE BUSY SEASON !!!

AND CHRISTMAS LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AWAY !!!

SO IT’LL BE RUSH, RUSH, RUSH…
At least I don’t have any little kids anymore
that have to get the MUST HAVE toy !!!
The only small one to buy for is my nephew’s 2 year old girl…
and she’s in love with my DOCTOR WHO SONIC SCREWDRIVER…
(so guess what she’s getting ?   one of her own)

Manny, Moe & Jack,

the Pep Boys, is a full-service automotive chain.
The original “Pep Boys” were Emanuel “Manny” Rosenfeld,
Maurice “Moe” Strauss, Graham “Jack” Jackson and Moe Radavitz,
four friends who pooled $800 in 1921 to open a single auto parts store.
(THERE WERE 2 MOE’s)

In 1923, the business partners officially changed the store’s name to
“The Pep Boys — Manny, Moe & Jack” and commissioned
the Manny, Moe & Jack caricatures that still serve as the company’s logo.
Currently, Pep Boys, has 570 stores & approximately 6,000 service bays.

I could only confirm 2 of them as dead…
but since the first store was opened in 1921,
88 years ago… and they must have been at least 20…

IT COST $45 !!!

Sign of the times I guess,
with no regulation & business down they can charge whatever !
Better to try to find a kind someone
who’ll let you use their cell phone.

AVOID  PAY PHONES… IF YOU CAN FIND ONE !!!
I saw one recently and had to look to see
what a local call cost these days…

People show up many hours before games start
so they can booze-up to excess before the game even starts !
(some without tickets get to watch it on tv in the parking lot)
The powers of football have decided that the walk
thru the lot isn’t family friendly…
(the ’scary’ drunks have been known to abuse…
even the handicapped !)

FINE & DANDY…
But, to me, it seems more likely they are against
parking lot eating & drinking because
it cuts into their food & drink business in the stadium !
IF THERE WAS A WAY FOR THEM TO MAKE MONEY
FROM TAIL-GATING, WOULD THEY BE AGAINST IT ?

They’ve already made attending the game,
NOT-family friendly by the cost of tickets !!!
NOW THEY’RE CONCERNED ?

IF SO… stop alcohol sales inside the stadiums,
don’t let obviously drunk fans in,
and throw obviously drunk fans out !

Senator: USPS to resume North Pole Santa letters

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – An Alaska senator says the U.S. Postal Service
is resuming a program allowing volunteers to respond to letters sent to
Santa Claus in care of the North Pole, Alaska, post office.

The USPS reconsidered its decision
to NOT allow volunteers to answer letters.

The program was suspended over privacy concerns.
ACTUALLY IT WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE
A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER WAS FOUND
TO BE WORKING IN THE PROGRAM !
