BACK TO SCHOOL ALREADY ?
Yep !!!
Tish (Pillbug) did several excellent top RIP banners on the theme…
and I’ve decided to use them all !!!
We’ll start with this one… take a break with next week…
(end to summer)
and then back to ‘back-to-school’ for another 2 weeks,
leading up to the RIP Renfield Anniversary in October !!!
10 full years in the bag !!!   The start of the 11th year of RIP !!!

and they said I wouldn’t last !!!
(actually most just said that… ” YOU SUCK “)
but it all amounts to the same thing…
(in my head anyway)

SO BACK IN SCHOOL ?
Except for waking-up early, studying, & homework…
IT’S  A  PRETTY  GOOD  TIME  IN  YOUR  LIFE  !!!

During a PBS special about ‘hippy’ folk music…

concerning the section dedicated to the
MAMAS & the PAPAS

It was amazing how I could call up from memory
their appearances on ED SULLIVAN or THE HOLLYWOOD PALACE
that were featured…   GOOD STUFF !!!

The CREEQUE ALLEY video explaining their ‘friendship’ history
had photos of those singers inserted into the video presentation…
VERY COOL !!!

BUT THE PART THAT GOT TO ME ?
MAMA  CASS
such a sweet, sweet voice and perfectly pitched !!!
You have to be born with that !

AND THE CONSTANT REMINDER THAT CASS
HAD ‘THE MUSIC IN HER’…
WAS HER ‘DANCING FEET’…

HER FEET ALWAYS MOVING TO THE MUSIC !!!

(& michelle always dressed un-sexily to not draw attention away)

(at least while on-stage performing or appearing together)

Whether performing, or appeaing in videos…
Cass’s feet glid (glided?) almost uncontrollably…
THE MUSIC NEEDED AN ‘OUTLET’ ALL THE TIME !!!

I wonder what would have become of her singing
had she not died so tragically young..?   (32)

IT’S BEEN A WACKY WEATHER YEAR
(here in the Metro-New Jersey area anyway)

It took a long, long time for summer to finally arrive…
but as long as a month or so ago…
I noticed some trees giving-up their leaves !!!
VERY ODD, ESPECIALLY THIS EARLY !

I was out mowing the lawn (ME… AGAIN !!!),
and I’m talking the last week of August…

and the large tree on the corner had tons of brown leaves
on the ground blowing around in the slight breeze !

I know it could depend on the area the tree was ‘born’…
a New England transferred tree changing earlier…

BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS
I’VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT !!!


I was just reading that in Australia,
there’s someone pushing for acknowledgement
of more than 4 seaons… for the in-between times…
I’M THINKING WE MAY NEED TO RE-DEFINE
THE START AND STOP OF THE SEASONS WE HAVE !!!

If it’s an earth-cycle… ain’t nothin’ we can do about it !
and if it’s because man’s actions of the last 100 years,
(out of billions)
WOW… WE KICK ASS !!!

Having looked like they’d be run out of the business
just a few years ago…
VONAGE has come back strong !!!

I just read that their $24.95 monthly charge
will soon (if not already) include
Soon to be ALL international phoning to land-lines…
(and cell calls to SOME major destinations)
it’s over 60 countries now…
not just the 6 countries previously included !

I currently pay VERIZON $4.95 per month
for an international plan that offers me greatly reduced rates….
They mistakenly cancelled my international service last month…
A 20 minute call to the UK was nearly $70 !!!
AFTER straightening it out…
the cost of the call dropped to $6 !!!

IF VONAGE PULLS THIS OFF SUCCESSFULLY…
I’D LIKE TO GET EVEN THE GREAT VERIZON RATE
REDUCED EVEN FURTHER !!!
(and add cell phones too)

If things don’t get better…
expect the next RIP, or 2, to be extremely short…
