FATHER’S DAY !!!
 (it’s always Father’s Day on Maury Povich’s TV show)

WHY IS FATHER’S DAY SO LATE THIS YEAR ?
or is it always this late… (I never noticed it before)

SO CELEBRATE THE FLAG THIS WEEK…
AND WE’LL  CELBRATE THE DADS  NEXT WEEK…

Strange person  DAVID CARRADINE  is gone…
Seemingly, the definition of Hollywood cool…
His drinking, drugging, many marriages, & incontenence on set
might lead you to think the ‘reputation’ was greater
than the actual life of David.

Famous in Kung Fu, the iconic tv series…
I better enjoyed the updated, present day, 90’s version…
As ‘grandson’ of the orig. Caine (more a clone, if not Caine)
he helped HIS San Francisco detective son
both in crime solving & the way of the Shaolin…

David really hit-his-stride later in life,
after a lackluster decade or 2…
 as BILL in the KILL BILL movies…
HE COULD HAVE PARLAYED THOSE APPEARANCES
INTO SOME HOLLYWOOD RESPECTABILITY !!!
(hollywood loves a comeback)

I’m sorry the manner of your death will always
be the trivia footnote attached to your name…
I expected you to live another 100 years or so…
to become one of those white-haired, ancient, wise ones !

I was listening to someone accuse
the UK TV talent program of near-criminality
in letting ’simple’ SUSAN BOYLE compete…
(actually urging her on after the press turned on her)
Urging probably needed for many not so ’simple’ people
put on a national or international stage !

COULD YOU IMAGINE THE OUTRAGE
IF THE SHOW TURNED PEOPLE AWAY
BECAUSE OF THE CHANCE THAT
THEY MAY NOT BE UP TO IT ?

(it’s singing, not brain surgery)

If everyone is so worried about mental health…
how about that JOHN & KATE plus 8
and their ‘potential’ 8 DANNY BONADUCE’S !!!

 They have great ratings, no one is shutting them down
for mental health reasons…
THEIR BREAKDOWN IS PART OF THE ENTERTAINMENT !

SHOULD THERE BE A MENTAL HEALTH TEST ?
(or should their families step up ?)
BASICALLY... if you can get along in your every day life…
 without institutionalization…
and can sign contracts and drive cars, etc…
YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MAKES THE CALL !!!

and this brings me back to the SLUMDOG kids…
with all their needs AFTER the movie…
(high maintenance, easily replace-able kids)
it’s easier to use professional kids, not real life ones…

Does that filename look familiar ?

The other day, each time I clicked on my
google homepage link…
I was alerted to a file… P.txt
that was waiting for confirmation to be downloaded…
No matter how many times I clicked out of it,
or re-booted, it came back…
It got past my virus protection
and a virus scan did not eliminate it…
I WAS PISSED !!!
(also getting ‘low memory’ messages causing a re-boot)
MY COMPUTER WAS NOW EFFED-UP !!!

THE SOLUTION ?
I googled the filename…
A link came up with someone having the same problem…
If you download the item…
you get a small ad for AMAZON in the upper left screen corner…
and luckily… the solution was also included…
ON MY GOOGLE HOMEPAGE…
(news service links, fancy clock, quotes, etc.)
people had reported having this problem
because of a certain clock gadget on the homepage…
(I had the clock ‘gadget’ for years before with no problem)
I DELETED THE CLOCK…
THE PROBLEM IS GONE !!!
(and my ancient dell computer survives another near tragedy)

I CURSE YOU GOOGLE…
AND THANK YOU FOR THE SOLUTION !

HERE’S ANOTHER METHOD… AND WARNING !!!

EAR  WAX

I’ve only had ear wax trouble twice in my life…
2 years ago and this past weekend…
Otherwise normal showering & ear cleaning sufficed…

Both times my left ear ‘clogged’…
but this time I had a new experience…

I put in the drops… leaned my head to the side…
and let it sit for 5 or 8 minutes… then to the bathroom sink..
filled the basin with warm water…
and used the ’squeeze bulb thing’ to shoot warm water
in the clogged ear… after a few squirts… tiny bits came out…
further, more agressive attemps, got a pea sized
chunk of waxy gunk out of my ear (eww… how did I hear at all?)
I squirted a bit more to REALLY clean it out…

SATISFIED… I RIGHTED MY HEAD…
and got a LITTLE dizzy… but in control…
then got dizzier.. thinking I could pass out…
 I went to lower myself to the floor…
I didn’t quite have the control I thought I did…
banged my right knee… pulled down the shower rod
and curtain behind me… and found myself sitting
on the floor, leaning against the tub !!!
(no serious injury)

I CALLED TO MY WIFE…
I wanted to explain in case found
passed-out under a shower curtain on the bathroom floor…
I didn’t want the excitement, or ambulance…
I had her get me some water and stay with me
till I felt better…  I sat for 5 minutes or so…
went back to MY hideout (my room)… and sat some more…
a half hour later… I went back to do the other ear !
(I went a bit lighter on that one.. and was fine)

I GUESS I DON’T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
FOR THE SPACE PROGRAM…
or even TOP GUN !!!

THAT INNER-EAR CAN SURE SCREW YOU UP !
Hopefully my ears will stay clean for a long time…
(I think it’s from wearing headphones several hours a day)

FUNNY THING IS…
I DON’T THINK I HEAR ANY BETTER
(except for the 2 days with the blockage)
THAN I DID BEFORE I GOT THOSE ‘PEAS’
OUT OF MY EARS !!!

BUT A WARNING !!!

DON’T CLEAN YOUR EARS ALONE…
ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM !!!

I’d have included a pic of what came out of my ears…
(I saved them to show my doctor)
BUT THEY ARE PARTICULARLY DISGUSTING !!!
(and embarassing)

My daughter gets alot of attention
among certain crowds for the pop culture education
I’ve given her over the years…
(plus she’s cute)

GUYS ARE AMAZED AT HER KNOWLEDGE OF…
Doctor Who… The Prisoner… etc…
She was invited to watch some old AVENGERS episodes
on film… 35mm film to be exact…
in the course of the ‘festival’… for some reason…
she mentioned that ‘we’ had some cartoons at home…
some rare ones… and the one that got them drooling ?
KRAZY KAT & IGNATZ MOUSE (with Officer Pup)
(turns out they’re rare)

Nasty Ignatz used to throw bricks (to the head)
at Krazy Kat… but she took it as a sign of his love…
(see why they’d never show these to today’s kids?)

IF THEY WENT FOR KRAZY KAT…
I REMINDED HER OF THE WINKY DINK
CARTOONS & PLAYSET WE USED TO HAVE
(you can get it at amazon, set & cartoons)
You press a clear plastic ’screen’ over your tv screen…
and use crayons to draw things to help Winky Dink…

(you DRAW his ladder, you DRAW the wheels on his car)
and the screen is lined up so that YOUR drawings work for Winky !

It’s from before my time…1953
and there was a later series of color cartoons…
I must have seen them in re-runs somewhere growing up…
(but never had the playset)

A PRETTY COOL CONCEPT
(especially for it’s day)
AND IT’S A CROWD PLEASER TO THIS DAY…
FOR BOTH KIDS & ADULTS !!!

I SPEND WAY TOO MUCH TIME
ON THIS TOPIC…
(but couldn’t pass up this bane of my life)

SLEEP & PEE-ING

This has happened to me before.. more than once…

It’s the middle of the night,
I kinda have to go pee.. but am too sleepy or lazy
to get up and go.. so I can have peaceful sleep…
So instead… I spend what seems like hours of ‘light’ sleep!
I  FINALLY  decide to force myself to go…
I groggilly get to my feet… (it’s 4:30am)
and JUST as I reach my hand to the doorknob of my MY room…
I HEAR THE CLICK OF THE LIGHT SWITCH IN THE BATHROOM,
AND THE CLOSING OF THE BATHROOM DOOR !!!
I stayed in my room, eyes closed, leaning against the wall,
till the bathroom was free… it seemed forever !

SOMEONE IS ALWAYS ONE STEP AHEAD OF ME…
DAY or NIGHT !!!

I don’t mind being on the same schedule as others,
but why can’t I be first once in a while ?

FOR MYSELF AND MAKE BELIEVE…
It doesn’t matter ‘kid-wise’…
mine have scattered to the 4 corners…
and it’s not like it’s an important day…
like MOTHERS DAY…

But I think they are 2 different-type days…
for MOTHERS... you need to gather
        for FATHERS?  — just leave me alone !!!
