Deep sea submarine pioneer
Jacques Piccard

The swiss-based marine explorer and inventor,
was part of the deepest submarine dive in history.

In 1960, Piccard and US co-pilot Don Walsh took a submersible
to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific.
They went 11km (seven miles) beneath the surface of the sea.

Their discovery of living organisms at that depth
led to a ban on the dumping of nuclear waste in ocean trenches.

After the Mariana Trench dive, he worked for Nasa,
exploring deep seas, and built four mid-depth submarines,
including the first tourist submarine which he used
to take passengers into the depths of Lake Geneva.

Bad ONLY if you had your LARGE tank filled
a few weeks ago, when fuel prices were
considerably higher than they are now…

If the gasoline (petrol) price is anything to go by…
To fill your oil tank as of today…
the same fuel you would have bought 2 or 3 weeks ago…
WOULD COST YOU NEARLY HALF AS MUCH !!!

NOW THAT WOULD PISS ME OFF !!!
(we’re talking hundreds of gallons)

but your timing had to be right…
NOW THAT THE ELECTION IS OVER…
FUEL PRICES WILL MOST LIKELY SKY-ROCKET AGAIN !!!
($1.92 per gallon as I write… but for how long?)

The public thinks it’s likely that Obama will improve race relations,
improve economic conditions, bring stability to the financial markets,
make the U.S. safer from terrorism, reduce the country’s dependence
on foreign oil, reduce global warming, win the war in Afghanistan
and remove U.S. troops from Iraq
without causing a major upheaval in that country.

Some seem to think money will appear in their pockets,
and their mortgages will be paid !!!

I’ve heard news stories of past presidents
that screwed up by not understanding
how the ’system’ actually gets things done…
there’s a ‘respect’ thing & un-official ‘rules’…

ABOUT OBAMA BEING TOO INEXPERIENCED FOR THE JOB…

In it, the US is invaded & taken over by
Communist nations… mainly Russia & Cuba…
Roles are reversed… the ‘young’ americans
are the freedom fighters… and the former
‘bush’ fighters & revolutionaires,
are put in the un-enviable (and un-familiar) position of
being in-charge, and the ‘policemen’ of an un-happy
constituency of ‘conquered’ people…

IN ONE SCENE…
A pair of ‘bored’ former invaders…
now keeping a populace in check…
ONE POINTS OUT TO THE OTHER…
IT’S EASIER TO BE THE REVOLUTIONARY,
THAN POLICE THE CONQUERED…

and that is that reality that OBAMA faces…

IT’S EASIER TO PROMISE CHANGE
THAN TO ACTUALLY PRODUCT IT…

Hopefully, he’s up to the task !!!

Mormons in a race with Scientologists for the title !!!

that the church is being singled out for
exercising its right to speak up in a free election.
(an election in California NOT Utah)

Of course, they have the right to ’speak up’…
BUT SO DO THE PEOPLE THEY ARE ‘PERSECUTING’ !!!
(yes… persecuting… it’s a non-God-like intolerance)

but there can be consequences…

And it’s not un-reasonable that the ‘offended’
take their tourist dollars (up to $6 billion)…
to places OTHER than Utah…

That struck me as a very out-of-date phrase…

Something you might hear at a German check point,
or border crossing during World War 2 !!!

I think it could be safely queried as…
” DO YOU HAVE A PASSPORT ? ”
At which point the answer is.. YES  or  NO…
and, if necessary, followed up by “but it’s expired”
if it’s no longer valid.
Answering YES with no follow-up when it’s expired
is a useless answer & being just plain stupid !!!
