My daughter came home from the hospital after 9 days,
and is continue-ing to recover from the infection
more comfortable at home… (might take a few weeks)
The pain is manage-able with oxycontin AND percodans,
and oral anti-biotics will take 14 days…

I’D LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO SENT
THEIR GOOD WISHES AND PRAYERS…
(I forwarded all of them to her and they were appreciated)

I’m not sure if all hospitals do this now…
another local one didn’t as early as last year…
but Susie’s laptop kept her very ‘occupied’…
the hospital had wireless wi-fi available to the patients !
and using HER cell phone instead of a hospital phone
was another ‘comfort’ item…

Marines’ youngest to get Medal of Honor dies.

Jack Lucas, who at 14 lied his way into military service
during World War II and became the youngest Marine
to receive the Medal of Honor, died. He was 80.

Jacklyln “Jack” Lucas was six days past his 17th birthday in 1945.
His heroism at Iwo Jima earned him the nation’s highest military honor.
He used his body to shield three fellow squad members from 2 grenades,
and was nearly killed when one exploded.

He was left with more than 250 pieces of shrapnel in his body,
in every major organ & endured 26 surgeries after Iwo Jima.

He was the youngest serviceman to win the Medal of Honor
in any conflict other than the Civil War.

Big for his age and eager to serve,
Lucas forged his mother’s signature on an enlistment waive
and joined the Marines at 14. Military censors discovered his age
through a letter to his 15-year-old girlfriend.
“He said if they sent him home, he would just join the Army.”

Lucas stowed away aboard a Navy ship headed for combat
He turned himself in to avoid being listed as a deserter
and volunteered to fight, and the officers on board allowed him
to reach his goal of fighting the Japanese.

“They did not know his age. He didn’t give it up & they didn’t ask.”

HERE’S MY PLAN…
It’s been a lifelong operation…
but I’m finally getting close…

For the last several decades,
I’ve been creating an alternate ‘dream’ universe !
I put the pieces in place in the moments between
wakefullness & actual sleep… for MY use in the dream world…
The ‘habitat’ is nearly complete !!!

It CAN be a Matrix-type place…
(no bad guys)
I move pretty ‘free-ly’ thru it (and space)…
or it can be a fairly ordinary place (where I move free-ly)…
I’m not ‘in charge’… but am the ULTIMATE OBSERVER !!!
(and partake where I may please, or not)
& I guess I believe in THE PRIME DIRECTIVE for the most part.

I’ve had various levels of success ‘living’ there…
Occasionally some VERY long adventures,
but mostly just glimpses, and un-controlled at that !

HERE’S THE PLAN…
Once I can sustain ‘being there’…
I plan to designate THAT world as my ‘default’ reality…
and this ‘garbage’ I’m currently living in…?
THE DREAM PART !!!
(and reverse the reality vs. the glimpses)
(So I won’t dream as well.. I can live with it)

BRILLIANT CONCEPT, NO ?
I wish I was crazy enough to believe it could happen.

I’M QUITE THE MOVER-AND-SHAKER OVER THERE…

HOSPITAL HUMOR
(I still got ‘it’, even in time of crisis)

The nurse was asking my hospitalized daughter…
if she had had a ‘bowel movement’ yet ?
(she hadn’t eaten in days)

No? But you’ve had ‘gas’ haven’t you ?

and that’s when i ‘pipe in’…
OOPS.. SORRY.. THAT WAS ME !!!

I think I know one reason
they let my Susan come home from the hospital…
In the time she was there,
she had 3 room-mates .. all had surgery… all left before her…
(THAT’S HOW BAD SHE WAS)

But the reason ?
After 7 days, they validate your parking stub,
and parking is now free of charge !!!

They must hate freebies…
one day of free, and they kicked her out of the hospital !!!

I hadn’t eaten since breakfast…
9pm heading home from the hospital (my kid)
I ‘hit’ the local Taco Bell…
I gave up on them for a year-and-a-half
when they had the tainted vegetables…
but now make it a stop… occasionally…

While waiting in the drive-up lane…
I saw a huge ad in the window for something interesting…

THE FRU-TISTA (freeze) !!!

(mango or strawberry with a scoop of real strawberry on top)

LET ME TELL YOU…
FOR AN ICY, FRUITY SUMMER DRINK ?
THIS IS IT !!!

The kid at the window said the employees
are all adicted to them…

Think of a slurpie, or a slushie…
but one that actually tastes good…!!!
Tasting of strawberries !!!

I’M SORRY I DIDN’T GET 2 OF THEM,
I FINISHED IT BEFORE I GOT HOME…
(even got a bit of brain ‘freeze’)

THIS STORY REALLY ANNOYED ME…

It seems a woman drags her 4 year old into a chocolate store in a mall.
She needs to use THEIR bathroom, her child has diarhea (the ’shits’),
and needs the bathroom quickly…
She is informed that the store does NOT have a public bathroom,
and that the mall bathroom is right around the corner…
The ’shit-kid’ mother is indidnant, and in the meantime,
the kid shits his pants !!!
The woman ‘blogs’ the story, slamming the store,
and gets a hundred thousand ’sympathy’ hits !!!

FIRST OF ALL…
If you kid is sick, keep him home… and stay with him,
the mall can wait…
NEXT…
I’ve dragged my kids around EVERYWHERE with me…
The trick is to NOT let it get to the ‘emergency’ stage…
‘GO’ before we leave.. and ask them constantly…

THEN… how dare you blame the store !!!
There could be insurance issues.. (stock piled in there)…
chance of injury ? why take the chance…?

HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN IN THE MALL BEFORE ?
DON’T YOU KNOW WHERE THE PUBLIC BATHROOMS ARE ?
(more important with a child in tow)

SHAME ON THE BAD MOM !!!

There is edible product in the store…
not a good shitting place for sick kids where open,
individual high-end, un-wrapped candies are sold separately.

I APPLAUD THE STORE
AND AM MORE LIKELY TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM…
I LIKE A PLACE THAT ERRS ON THE SIDE OF CLEANLINESS !!!

AND LASTLY…
I KNOW OF THAT ‘GAME’…
I was introduced to the ‘game’ by an old ‘fuss-budget’ I used to know…
Whenever she needed a bathroom…
she would walk into an expensive hotel, or upscale store…
and ask to use theirs… (or just help herself)

THUS GUARANTEE-ING HER A CLEAN, WELL-KEPT,
GERM FREE TOILET FACILITY !!!
(and NEVER having to use a dirty public restroom)

Actually, it’s not a bad idea…
and one this woman was probably familiar with…
SHE JUST PICKED THE WRONG PLACE !
(and it should not be held against the store)

The percentage of VERY pretty people (girls for me)
was extremely high for a single workplace.

There were alot of young women I would have gone after
in my earlier (single) incarnaton …
As a fly-on-the-wall… I noticed them very ’smiley’ & flirty…
(which made the less attractive seem more so too)

SHOULD I JUST THANK THE PERSONNEL MANAGER,
OR IS IT JUST A COINCIDENCE ?

(the patients? eh.. not so hot, ‘cept for my kid)
