THIS IS NEW JERSEY’S PART OF THE WACKY WEATHER…

MOTHER EFFER…
4 DAYS OF NEAR 100 DEGREE HEAT !!!
(that’s 38 degrees centigrade)

I’m making this the June Bride issue…
for no better reason then needing a theme and it’s June…

As far as brides go….
I’m reminded of a line Debra Winger
(remember Debra? she used to be so cute, what happened?),
said at her (Sissy’s) wedding to Bud in URBAN COWBOY…
(it was a hot Texas late morning, early afternoon wedding)
she said…
” MOMMA, MY LEGS ARE STARTING TO SWEAT !!! “

But I sure did think it cute that she wore white cowgirl boots
underneath her white wedding gown…
(she lifted her dress)

Speaking of un-godly hot temperatures…
After this…85 degrees will feel like ’sweater’ weather !

An otherwise ordinary boy scout camp
was the scene of horrible carnage…

R.I.P

These are the 4 boyscout victims
from the tornado that swept thru their camp.

terrible, terrible tragedy !!!

The tornado at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch
killed Josh Fennen, 13, Sam Thomsen, 13, and Ben Petrzilka, 14,
all of Omaha, Nebraska; and Aaron Eilerts, 14, of Eagle Grove, Iowa,
who was a camp staff member.
Additionally, forty-eight Scouts and staff members were injured.

Nothing was left of a bunkhouse where Scouts had sought shelter
and where a collapsed chimney trapped several victims.
It’s sad to admit that it was ‘lucky’ there were no more deaths.

GLOBAL WARMING ?
Personally, I think the world goes thru cycles…
and not measured in years… but in thousands of years…
We can be ’shitting’ in our ‘drinking’ water…
but as far as global effect?
I’m not sure that man isn’t a pimple-on-the-ass of the world…
One massive volcano, with accomanying ash…
and it’s global cooling !!!

We’re currently having a heat-wave… over 100 degrees for days !!!
And a co-worker makes the comment…
“… and people don’t think there’s GLOBAL warming?…”
(as if the current weather was proof)

I ‘threw-in’… I heard there’s another term
for what we’re going thru…
IT’S CALLED SUMMER-LIKE WEATHER !!!

We had a pretty reasonably weathered month of May…
I can remember most years DO get 90-plus degree weather…
WE HAD NONE !
It was MORE unusual to have a wet & pleasant month of may…

As far as proof ?
I could be convinced if 100-degree days come in January,
not during months we traditionally spend at the beach !

hadn’t stepped down (finally) when she did…
SHE’D PROBABLY BE ARRESTED !!!

just raised it’s cigarette tax ANOTHER $1.25
bringing the cost of a pack of cigarettes to the $8 range !
(I don’t smoke so it doesn’t effect me directly)

BUT WITH PRICES LIKE THAT…
Cigarette theft and (no tax) smuggling
should be on the rise…
(why sell pot? if money can be made on non-taxes cigarettes)
It also gives teens another reason to mug old ladies !

The increase is supposed to bring in billions
to the NY tax coffers…
BUT… they try to look ‘caring’…
noting that they figure 140,000 people will quit
smoking because of the non-afford-ability…
Just like the people who’ll have to sit home in the cold
this winter not able to afford car gas or heat !!!

THOSE BASTARDS !!!
Those tax dollars are already ’spent’…
if that many people DO quit…
THEY’LL BE SHORT OF FUNDS
FOR THEIR PORK-BARREL PROJECTS !!!
and raise that tax again… or another one that effects ME !!!

AND LIKE ALL TAXES…
NO EFFECT on the well-off and rich…
A bit-of-a-struggle for those in the middle…
and the poor?
either they do without, turn to crime, or get subsidized !!!

cut way back on summer vacation plans…
I’d recommend staying home instead…

Fuel prices show no signs of abating any time soon…
and no one is talking about the cost of winter heat
especially for the colder climates…
In New Jersey… we’ve gotten away with relatively mild winters
the last few years… (but we’re due)…
and other areas of the country have not been as lucky !

I remember reading (last winter) about local charities
getting heating oil to families out of financial necessity !!!
THIS WINTER’S PRICES WILL MAKE LAST YEAR
LOOK LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS !!!

IT’S GONNA GET COLD !!!

and don’t think you’re safe if you have gas (propane) heat…
traditionally the prices of oil & gas have been competitive !

SUMMER WILL BE INCONVENIENT…
WINTER COULD BE DISASTROUS !!!

AND IF IT GETS ESPECIALLY BAD ?
You may have to go back to dial-up internet !!!

SOME LITTLE THINGS
I’VE THOUGHT OF, OR GOOGLED,
THIS PAST WEEK…

If I’m reading it right…
when the digital tv conversion takes place…
you should have un-interupted service on ALL your tv’s
if connected to cable tv…
This includes the tv’s connected to the cable box,
and ALSO tv’s that have the coax cable connected directly…
(I HOPE THAT’S RIGHT ANYWAY)

My XM Pioneer XM2go satellite radio receiver is acting up…
when I tape my RON & FEZ replay from 12-to-3am for the next day..
for no rhyme or reason… the radio occasionally changes channels…
going from 202 Virus programming to CHANNEL 1,
which is the ONLY one you get before activating the unit !
The company has reset my signal,
I’ve double checked before bed…
but for no reason (no house power outage) it changes !!!
I’m mystified… I’m thinking ghost !!!
(now I have to try to tape the weekend replay)
THE PROBLEM DIDN’T GOOGLE !!!

unless the computer’s speed is being effected…
Things wear out… eventually anyway…
Non-defragged can lead to over-use of ‘arm’ movement
since data is stored, not in one clump, but wherever there is room…
(so the ‘arm’ can ‘dance’ around un-necessarily).
Defrag weekly ? You might be asking for trouble !

SO BASICALLY, IT’S A TRADE-OFF
and a couple of times a year should be sufficient !

STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE ?
The started the cycle again on the Sci-Fi Channel,
and I’ve missed seeing the entire final episode AGAIN !!!

The lovely PENNY SINGLETON
was the voice of JANE JETSON on the Jetson cartoon series…
The voice of Judy Jetson was by JANET WALDO…
Janet had a great cartoon voice too… (her entire life)
She can be seen on the I LOVE LUCY episode
playing the bobby-soxer in love with Ricky,
