I have a special place in my heart… & this week’s banner…
(okay, a bit much… how about a special place in the future RIP museum?)

for MY first celebrity contact, with me NOT initiating it…
SOMEHOW they found me !!!

Ann Jillian & her husband Andy
were nice enough to take notice of an item I did on her career…
(a nice one… whew)
Good things come to good people,
even if it takes a while,
and I can only imagine the nice life they’ve settled into…
HOME, FAMILY, CHURCH, CAREER…

and her husband Andy is wacky, like me, and we get along nicely…
(I had to call him off from telling Kellie M. ‘hi’ from me…
they live a short distance apart, and he’s run across her.
He thought it ‘good fun’ to say ‘hi’ for me… me too ! but Kellie might not !!!
She’s most likely aware of me… but I might be on her ‘psycho’ list)

ANYWAY…
They come across as nice, fun people…
as evidenced by the signature on the following autograph…

Ann’s acting & singing career was power-house !!!
Her motivational speaking on HER cause.. BREAST CANCER
is more to be proud of…

But having known presidents, and worked with legends
(sang at the White House, Broadway in Sugar Babies,
the STAR of a tv series, was a Bob Hope USO ‘babe’),
and survived the good & the bad, she’s led a very blessed life.

I’m still in awe that she knew actress PENNY SINGLETON !
(a favorite of mine from the old ‘Blondie’ movie series)
(AND THE VOICE OF JANE JETSON)
(my personal awe isn’t as traditional as most people)

Tickets nearly impossible to get for appearances…
Ticket scalpers are ‘practicing’ their spiels already…

“Tickets, tickets… who needs tickets?
I got ‘em on the aisle, I got em up front…”

Prices may be more reasonable than last time…
I’m not saying that this current pope is un-popular…

BUT…
I’ve heard him called
the GEORGE BUSH of POPES !!!

OKAY.. A RIP FAN ? HE WON ME OVER…
I’LL GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE…

Just watch out for his ’smoking’ pocket-book !!!

IF TICKETS ARE SO HARD-TO-GET…
Why not have multiple ‘blessing’ appearances
to raise money for charity ?
People would pay plenty for the once-in-a-lifetime chance
to be in the presence of the Pope for a blessing.
AND HE SHOULD BE GLAD TO DO IT ….
1 hour… 10 minutes by him…
and the audience would be satisfied !
(it’s not like a pope visits often)

WHY LIMIT IT TO A SPECIAL FEW ?
BE A MAN OF THE MASSES !!!

I figure the head guy is just a ‘figure-head’ anyway…
some beaurocrats in the back room run things…
So why not choose someone with a nice, friendly, ‘grandpa’ look ?

AND THAT NAME !!!
If they wanted some really positive press & outlook…
The Pope could have chosen a better name…
Most can’t name this guy’s name & number !!!

He could have picked the president’s name… GEORGE
and, at least, not be the most un-popular George !

and people, even non-catholics would be keeping an ‘eye’ on him…
Mostly due to the curiosity of the NEXT Pope’s chosen name…

EJ (edra jean) PEAKER

She was VERY popular on late 60’s, & 70’s television.
A super cutie that went from HELLO DOLLY to
series work with Robert Morse & many other appearances.
I don’t think she’s recognize-able from the above pic,
but you might know from the ones below…

MOVIE MAGIC…

in HELLO DOLLY… EJ played one of the YOUNG girls…
figure…. 18 or 19 years old…
EJ is only 2 years younger than star Barbara Streisand…

(she danced up a storm)

to make EJ appear so young…
they had her stand next to Streisand alot…

She had other attributes that weren’t taken advantage of in DOLLY…

I don’t have the brains or talent to duplicate ‘greatness’…
(the following might not be to YOUR taste… but in my world?
the words, the quickness, the cleverness awe me)

Saying that… I was there when Howard Stern was at his ‘best’,
I was there for the completely out-of-control OPIE & ANTHONY years…
And I’m not saying they aren’t good to their audiences now…
but there was a certain over-the-top quality that you knew wouldn’t last !
AND IT DIDN’T !!! YOU SETTLE IN FOR THE LONG HAUL EVENTUALLY !!!

RIGHT NOW ?
RON & FEZ are ‘popping’… it just came together…
and their un-selfishness is amazing…
The show is fan driven… they party with the fans
(there are numerous local NYC get togethers),
they do extra shows… (instead of always re-runs when away),
they’ve done some sunday’s for the football playoffs…
the are totally approach-able & reach-able…
YOU COULD BE IN PODUNK, IOWA
AND FEEL LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY !

I don’t have what it takes to achieve greatness…
but I know it when I see it…

WHEN IT HAPPENS IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES,
IT’S HARD TO IGNORE…
(I’m just glad I’m able to appreciate it as it’s happening)

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER !!!

(but ‘family’ is ‘family’… and they let you belong)

Tegan was MY choice of name when she was born
that was ’shot down’ by EVERYONE around me…

Tegan Jovanka was an Australian stewardess
(played by actress Janet Fielding)
who became a ‘time’ travelling companion
to the 4th incarnation (regeneration) of DOCTOR WHO .
That DOCTOR was played by Peter Davison.
(my favorite of the doctors)

TEGAN was my Kellie Martin of Doctor Who characters !!!

Tegan is supposedly a variation of Megan (in the name books).
Rare, perhaps a one of a kind name around here…
I don’t think my daughter would have been a happy ‘camper’
saddled with a tv character name from the UK…

Well… because of me, Susan is no stranger to things Doctor Who.
But it took the interest by some of her friends in the Doctor
to get her to give the shows a good look.
NOW… she watches shows, old & new, on Youtube…
and is annoyed that I DIDN’T name her TEGAN !

She’s been known to ‘brag’ to her ‘Doctor’ friends..
that she was ‘nearly’ named after a ‘Who’ character !!!

NEW SPINOFF
of
DOCTOR WHO

The Sarah Jane Adventures

For starters, Sarah Jane Smith was a very popular companion
to the Doctor decades ago. A failed spinoff was attempted years ago.
But, at least in the UK… EVERYTHING Doctor Who is golden these days !

Sarah seems to have spent much of her life pining away for the
adventurous life in time and space she once had…
(and, as it turns out, an affection for the Doctor)
She came to terms with her personal demon in a very warm
episode that re-united her with the Doctor and her robot dog, K-9.

She’s now the wierd lady, that lives alone, and believes in aliens !
In the premier extended show, helpers manage to ‘connect’ with her…
A young teen with-it teen girl, her black girlfriend,
and a cute teen human boy just ‘created’ and learning the ways of the world.
Very formulatic… very DOCTOR WHO LIGHT for younger viewers…
But a much better option for including younger viewers,
than to ‘dumb-down’ the adult stories (violence?) on the regular show.

SARAH JANE is no longer aided by one with alien intellect,
or being a member of, or watched by, a government agency.
She does seem to have all kinds of ‘gadgets’ to make the show interesting…
Actually, she’s a bit whiny, and clue-less in her battles with aliens…
The new kids in her life seem to have the answers, not her !

THE OPENING STORY WAS DECENT,
THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE VERY NICE,
NO MONEY SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SPARED !!!

From what I’ve seen so far,
I don’t agree with the ‘older’ Doctor Who fans
that seem to ’slam’ the show beginning to end…

I THINK I’LL WATCH SOME MORE…
(not adult, but not idiotic either)
I COULD SEE KIDS LOVING THE SHOW !!!

FRIDAY NITES, 8 PM, SCI-FI CHANNEL
Followed by the NEW season of the regular DOCTOR WHO show !!!

MIchael is my son…
but I took the pictures, shook his hand,
and generally hung out with Pierre LaRouche…
(Montreal Canadian & later, NY Ranger)
(you can find his name engraved on the Stanley Cup multiple times)

A great guy… I had the pictures developed (olden days)…
and sent them to him via the NY Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
I included a SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope).
So I mailed it and forgot about it…
I guess Pierre gets a few requests… I got the photo back,
autographed to Michael, an autographed player card,
and the kicker ?
In the 2 years our request took to get to the top of the ‘pile’…
Postage rates had gone up,
and HE had to ’spring’ for the additional postage !

I never heard ANYONE say a bad word about him…
Pierre LaRouche
did it, did it well, and got everyone’s respect !!!

A former ‘wild-child’ that retreated to the calmer ‘heartland’
and connection with her family…

(finding photos of her was tough)
like Janice Ian sang… I think she “married young and then retired”

Through a great stroke of luck..
I got my hands on a pretty good DVD copy
of one of my favorite movies…
a tv movie Tisha starred in (1970)… NIGHT SLAVES

I was always looking to find her on one show or another…
(her Columbo is a standout)
I thought she had the look… and a sexy ‘deadpan’ delivery…
(one of 2 or 3 go-to tv actresses, and my favorite)
and some film work, as you can see her & Clint in an embrace.
(I wonder how many ‘takes’ it took ?)

From ‘royal’ stock… ROBERT STERLING and ANN SOTHERN
were her parents… She & Mia Farrow ‘did’ catholic school together.
(Mia was pretty wild herself in those days!)

I was able to, ahem, locate her… (yeah, I suck)
and have not heard back yet concerning the autographed photo.
I thought at this stage of her life, her acting career was a long ago memory,
and she would enjoy hearing from a fan who remembered her fondly…
LIKE I WROTE TO HER…
Whether I get a photo or not… I’m just thrilled at the chance
that my letter is going from YOUR hand to the waste basket !!!

IF THE PHOTO EVER GETS HERE…
IT WILL GET PRIORITY PUBLISHING !
